What is Somatic Experiencing?
Somatic Experiencing is a modality that encourages regulation in the central nervous system by working with and assisting resolution of accumulated stress responses such as fight, flight or freeze.
It recognizes that our nervous system health greatly impacts our day to day experience.
It is a body-oriented therapeutic model applied in a variety of professional settings including but not limited to psychotherapy, medicine and coaching, on a multidisciplinary intersection of physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics, according to Somatic Experiencing International.

Regulation is essential to learning, cooperation, and building relationships. This approach is related to the work of Peter Levine, Stephen Porges, Stephen Terrell, Kathy Kain and many others.
